Illustrator Day

When Margaret Wise Brown died she left behind a legacy of books for children.  She also left behind notebooks of poems and manuscripts that had not been published.  Margaret K. McElderry Books is proud to present one of her last remaining stories, stunningly illustrated by New York Times bestselling illustrator, Stephen Savage.

Thanks to R. J. Julia for having Stephen Savage come to Red Barn in May of 2010.  Stephen read “The Fathers are Coming Home” to the children and showed them the block prints he used to make the illustrations throughout the book.
